Stretch Wrap

Stretch Wrap

Products used in the packaging and shipping industries vary widely and you will always have lots of options to choose from, but understanding how these items add value to your shipping process is what matters most. You will find that stretch wrap is one of the more commonly used shipping supplies and it can make the work you do a great deal easier. What we want to talk about today is the type of stretch wrap that Omnipak offers and how it can help you do more than just shipping. Once you understand just what an impressive product this is, you may decide that it is time for you to get a hold of some yourself either for your personal use or for your company. As its name suggests, this kind of plastic wrap will be stretched over items it is covering and then wrapped snugly around them. You may also have heard of this material referred to as shrink film or pallet wrap which are its other common names. The kind of plastic used to make this sort of wrap is called Linear Low Density Polyethylene or LLDP, for short. It is quite strong and can bear a good deal of weight and it also has what is called memory which means that it will fit the shape it is stretched to fit. This is very important because it helps the product to stay in place and protect an item that it is wrapped around. In order to use it, you should have an applicator to make the job easier. Depending upon your company's needs, you may want to go with a hand held stretch dispenser for your employees or there are also fully automatic wrapping machines that can take care of the process of wrapping quite easily and speed things up. These are usually used in larger corporate settings where there is a high volume of material that will need to be wrapped either for shipping or for storage within a warehouse.
